Does it ever frustrate you to have to cut your surf session short or miss out on fun waves because your shoulder muscles are completely exhausted or because you have chronic low back pain that keeps you sidelined?

Or, do you ever feel intimidated by the surrounding surfers in the lineup and don’t feel like you’re performing your absolute best/and you feel your confidence fade?

Maybe you feel intimidated by the more experience surfers.

Or, you feel like your body is not athletic enough to handle the surf conditions.

Or, just frustrated because you’re not progressing in your surfing and not catching as many waves as you want.

How do these surfers do it? And, what do these surfers KNOW and DO that you don’t?

Well, today you’re finally going to discover their secret – something so important that you can literally call it, “The Wave Catching Secret” or “The Surf Progression Secret”

Now, imagine catching wave-after-wave, surfing each with confidence and style, and effortlessly paddling back out to the lineup and around the crowds

It’s no secret; the fittest surfers catch more waves. They are in better shape to paddle out and compete for waves, and have more endurance throughout the entire session, catching and surfing their last wave with as much energy as their first.

WHAT IF you could catch more waves with ease and surf with greater confidence and power?

Doing so would open you up to more fun with each session, pushing your surfing further and giving you more opportunities to get barreled

If you look closely, you’ll notice that the fittest surfers are the ones that catch the most waves and surf with more energy and style than anyone else.

You know the ones…athletic shoulders that are wider than their waistlines. Tone back muscles and a strong core.

These surfers are in better shape to paddle out and compete for waves, and have more endurance throughout their entire session, catching and surfing their last wave with as much energy as their first.

You don’t surf like them because you don’t train like them.

See, most people think that surfing is the absolute best exercise to improve a surfers skill and endurance.

However, the insiders know that surfing alone is not enough to improve their skills and keep their body healthy and surfing at their peak well into their golden age.

The best surfers know how to train to stay in peak surfing shape fast – by fast, I mean both in just a short amount of workout time and in getting rapid results you can see and feel in just a few days. Most other surfers just don’t have a clue.

And, it doesn’t require doing hours of power yoga or boring cardio and there is no need to run endlessly on the treadmill or elliptical machine.

See, these surfers know how to train and understand how much to train to keep their body in peak surfing shape.

These surfers understand that their strength, mobility and balance/coordination will not improve without a strength-training program.

Not knowing this can keep you from surfing to your greatest potential: slowing your progression, cutting your surfing years and memories short and worst of all keeping you out of the water

You see, it’s NOT your fault.

The bottom line is that the best, most experienced surfers just have better information than you do about what works for to boost their surf performance, ignite their energy levels and increase their power and endurance in the water.

So, if you’re sitting there right now, frustrated with your surfing being in a rut or you feel like your performance has plateaued…

Then, unfortunately, you don’t know the secret either.

Not knowing this can keep you from surfing to your greatest potential: slowing your progression, cutting your surfing years and memories short and worst of all keeping you out of the water

These surfers understand that their strength, mobility and balance/coordination will not improve without a strength-training program.

Ask yourself…

What could your surfing be like…

  1. If your shoulders didn’t get tired so fast and you could catch more waves
  2. If your neck and back weren’t stiff and achy causing you pain and discomfort during your session
  3. If you had better mobility and flowed from move-to-move effortlessly
  4. If you had more energy for longer sessions or to paddle for a second session
  5. If you had more confidence in your balance and athleticism
  6. If you were not timid when the waves got bigger
  7. If you could always impress your friends and family with your surfing ability

GOOD NEWS – Getting in Epic Surf Shape Is Not Difficult

You just need to first make sure you’re not falling into a trap that keeps most people from achieving the fit, lean surf body they are trying to achieve.

You Need A Workout Plan That’s Optimized for Surfers

Hello, I’m Patty Soud, certified personal trainer, body and exercise physiologist expert and an avid surfer.

I’ve been training surfers and athletes of all ages and ability levels for over 12 years, using a combination of functional exercises and targeted range of motion stretching.

The most important thing about training is having the right plan in-place in-order to achieve the results you are looking for.

I’ll show you that proper, performance-oriented training does not need to be painful, complicated or even overly competitive in order to produce huge results. In fact, it should be quite the opposite – you should be training to both improve strength and ability level, but also to help prevent injury and reverse the aging process.

When it comes to training smart – strength and flexibility go hand-in-hand. And, training one without the other just won’t produce the long-term results you are looking for as a surfer.

Too much strength training without proper stretching will result in stiff muscles, limited range of motion and limited style in the water.

Vice versa – if all you do is yoga and stretching, then your body is lacking the strength and resistance training it needs to really improve balance and coordination on your board and increase paddling strength and endurance.

We often refer to Functional Training as the “Fountain of Youth” – it not only makes you look great, but keeps your body in peak surfing shape, giving you more energy and athleticism in the water…at any age

Make no mistake – I’m a trainer who surfs. Not a surfer that trains a little or has just “discovered the benefits of training”.

This means that I have gained tons of hands-on experience over the past 12 years of my career, coaching and instructing athletes on the proper way to workout and train for performance.

And, I’m serious about delivering results to my clients through my programs.

I’ll show you the smart way to train and strengthen your body to its absolute greatest potential.

Let me tell you a story

People are actually accelerating their aging and diminishing their surfing ability and reducing their surfing years through by:

  • Poor nutrition – eating poorly, and not eating to build
  • Lack of consistent activity and exercise – shortens muscles, creates chronic stiffness, loss of muscle and strength and weakens cardiovascular system

In Just 30-Minutes A Day, I’ll Get You In The Best Surfing Shape of Your Life

You read that right. 30-minutes a day. That’s all it takes to change your body, athleticism and surfing ability-level.

Sure, you’ll sculpt a lean body…but, more important you’ll develop incredible functional strength and build the kind of athletic power that will help you perform in the water when it counts most during epic swell.

The key to improving your overall surfing ability, performance and confidence is proper functional training – building foundational strength and increasing range of motion throughout your entire body will result in you becoming a stronger, more confident surfer and waterman.

To achieve this, you need a time-tested, proven workout that will help you achieve the results you want and need. And, a workout strategy that covers all the bases for the modern, everyday surfer: workouts, stretching, nutrition – optimized to fit into your busy schedule.

With Fitness for Surfers, you will…

  • develop incredible full body functional strength
  • boost your balance and coordination
  • increase endurance and cardiovascular level
  • and, evolve to a more confident, powerful and athletic surfer

The best part is that getting started is easier than you think:

  • no fancy equipment required
  • no overly strenuous workouts that injure your body and zap your energy
  • no awkward, overly complex exercises that you hate performing

Surf Training Myths and Gimmicks

There’s plenty of surf training gimmicks out there.

Seldom are these programs put together by an actual trainer with hands-on experience coaching and training a wide variety of people. Fact is, most of these workouts don’t work simply because they are designed around a poor training philosophy.

The problem with most surf training programs is that they put too much focus on…

– Complicated weightlifting moves that promote bad form and injury

– Using weights that are too heavy and training in this manner too many times per week

– Over-training shoulder and paddling muscles

– Performing ridiculous balance exercises that supposedly “simulate” surfing

– Overly strenuous workouts that are too long, leaving your body devoid of energy and dangerously sore

– Workouts that restrict mobility and create tight, muscles with limited range of motion

– Not enough emphasis on lower body strength training and flexibility (hint – this is your real power source)

This type of training advice and methodology does not work and often puts your body at risk for injury. It’s straight up over-hyped nonsense and is NOT sustainable and NOT beneficial. Especially for the average surfer.

Following these types of training programs often causes…

  1. an imbalance of strength in the body
  2. a decrease in balance & coordination
  3. issues with joints
  4. extreme muscle soreness
  5. energy levels to plummet
  6. muscle tightness to the point of limiting range of motion and mobility

Plus, it greatly increases your change for injury that will keep you out of the water

Fact is, as surfers we are all athletes. From the pros on tour to the weekend warrior, we all want to improve and preserve our surfing ability and increase our comfort in the water, especially as we age. The absolute best way to get stronger and more confident in water is by building foundation strength within the body through functional training.

Isn’t it time you started training smarter, not just harder?
